THE GOVERNMENT

This is a paper written by McDohl for school. There are some grammatical errors, but I like it better when there are errors in a paper; it gives it more soul. McDohl is usually really crazy and out there, but, when he wants to, he can be really deep. McDohl has a lot of soul, and I respect him for that. So anyway, here it is, the government essay.

America the Beautiful...

America has many meanings, both good and bad. Many people only see the good side of the government, blinded from all it? faults by society, media and the want to not go against the group view. I for one, am not blinded by society or the media. What America means to me, is both love and hate, pride and shame.

For the love of a country...

America, the land and people, is a beautiful and wondrous thing. One can do nearly anything their heart desires, from reading books to opening businesses. One can see nearly anything, movies, shows, etc..., a fact of which I am grateful of, for I am a massive Anime fan. Another reason of why I love this country is, the people.

The population is incredibly diverse. With so many different backgrounds and cultures all in one place, how can it not be interesting, or even amazing? In fact, last year in my World History class, we had two classmates from, Sierra Leone, and they could relate so much more information to us about the African culture then our book ever could. There are not many places in the world where this could happen.

Also, the land itself is amazing. The Grand Canyon, the Rocky Mountains, The Great Lakes, the giant Pine Barrens, the Great Plains, all these things help make up the beauty of the land. Natural beauty is one of the greatest things this country possesses.

For the hate of a country...

From the very beginning, the gov? was corrupt. ?ll men are created equal...· at least all white male landowners. Although we did eventually allow African-American people to vote, it was way too late when they were allowed to. That is the past though, and the gov? did make up for it? mistakes (kinda sorta). The here and now though, does have many faults with-in it? self, possibly even more so than before.

Political parties are corrupt beyond belief. They say they are going to either A). Lower taxes B). Cut Medi-care costs C). Lower some other cost that the gov? uses or D). Make the economy better (in a way). Now just how many of these people do it? To my knowledge, none of them have ever. Although I have only lived 15 years, I? pretty sure this is an accurate statement.

Another thing that makes me loath this country, are the big corporations. These guys are untouchable. When Philip Morris (I believe it was them, or perhaps it was Marlboro) went to court and said that, ?es, we did know that cigarettes kill and addict· the gov? couldn? stop them from making them still. Not that the gov? would want to anyway, seeing as they probably take bribes from them, as well as how dependent the economy is on them and other big corporations.

Which brings me to another point, the economy is very messed up. It? very slowly counting down to another depression, and it will cycle back, unless we can figure out a solution. The likeliness of which, isn? too good really.

And rounding out my dislike of the gov?, is it? military. Yes, the military did help stop Hitler, but it also fought many pointless wars over money and pride, from where the combined causalities would probably equal if not exceed the second World War? US causalities. Then, they dropped the bomb. The most heinous act of pure destruction ever(2nd to Hitler? genocide that is), was caused by the US. I would not be too mad about this if the bomb was needed, but the truth is, it was not. Germany had been crushed by then, Italy was gone too. All the bomb did was make the inevitable, which would have been won in around 4 months anyway, happen sooner. Hiroshima and Nagasaki were both obliterated in a shower of pure atomic energy, being bombarded with massive amounts of Gamma Rays. Anyone who lived in those places, would die, if not instantly, then gradually from the effects of radiation.
