Sitting in English class we were talking about myths, and this one myth dealt with "end of childhood." To clarify this to the class, my teacher had us fill out a sheet, in which "childhood" had already been completed. We were left with the "end of childhood" or "adulthood" section. I sat there, horrified at the list that was taking form in the front of the room. I realized that getting old was not looking good, not at all. When people age society expects them to mature, stop having fun, and take life seriously. In my eyes, to become dead inside; dead to life. When we're young we can pretty much just run around and have fun, but when we get older, standards change and "fun" is frowned upon by society. My english class said this was because of increased responsiblity. They don't have time to come home from a long day and run mad into the streets. They have to go home and pay bills, feed their children or spouse, and continue office work at home. Some work long hard hours, and pretty much wake up, eat, go to work, come home, eat, and go to bed. After awhile life gets tedious, and boring. The will to live almost dies. Thats why some people age so quickly, because they aren't happy, and they think because they're of a certain age they're "too old." People should never have to stop having fun because of how old they are. This only relates back to the Law of Happiness, one should always do things they wish to do, and be happy because of it. Depression shouldn't even happen. One has to realize what they want out of life and never let go of that ideal. Why do you think some people look so young, and they're really so old? Its because inside they feel young, they feel happy, they want to keep living, it reflects itself on the outside. People should never have something keeping them from living a full life. Ever.
