SOCIETY

The following is an e-mail that I recieved from Kasumi:

I was reading through your site, and found myself thinking of things that I hadn't openly discussed in awhile. Things like society, things like human nature, things like hate and discrimination and though it is far opposite, talking about love. I am usually not eager to be open with these sort of things, because my ideas and morals are usually frowned upon by most of those I've shared them with. But, seeing as though most of what was discussed on the page I either agreed with or disagreed with, I thought your site could benefit from other people giving their points of view on everything. So here I go,...

Society, I've thought about this on many occasions, usually thoughts of resentment and hate for. As you said, it is society that we must hate, not the people within it. I suppose I agree with some of that, though in my eyes no one person can love everyone. Theres a certain amount of respect we need to have for ourselves, and to me loving the world, and loving humanity, and loving the people who made your soul bleed and who made you want to scream out in agony for what they've done for you, is unhealthy. Never hate people for their differences, or for what they have in common, what they do and what they've done. In my eyes, it is only just to hate those who have wronged you, who have made you question who you are, what you believe in, and those who try to change you. Trying to love someone that doesn't love you, and who makes you bleed in your mind is wrong, because you need to love yourself above all. Society is what makes people this way, people who follow what others do, those who hide their true selves in a closet and wear a mask to "fit in" with those around them. Weak human beings, not deserving of suffering, because those who feel they have to be a certain way to be worthy of love are suffering enough. I don't hate these people, but I don't love them. They don't love themselves, which to me is the saddest thing in the world. I don't like people who are fake, who think that their looks are everything, and thought and personality are unnessesary. I don't like people who don't hold respect for themselves or for others, people who hate others because of skin color, gender, age, sexual orentation, taste in clothing or music, how they look, what color their hair is, weather they're fat or thin or otherwise. People like this are the disease that is society, these are the people that have continued the suffering of the kind, the generous, the person who holds respect for all life, the one who follows their dreams and listens to their soul. The person who is completely true and through flaws in completely pure. It is never right to hate anyone for no reason, but it isn't right to love someone for no reason other than they exist either.

People hate that which they are not, which they do not know, that which they have never experienced. Human nature is just as flawed as society, and we can no longer hate that which we are not, that which we do not know, and that which we have never experienced.

I tried to make that as unconfusing as possible, but in my thoughts I happen to be very unorganized. Happens when they sit in your mind for awhile, and given the opportunity to be voiced all try to run out at once.
